CHAMPIONSHIP INFORMATION

POLICIES, PROCEDURES, & GUIDELINES:

 

FORMAT:

  • All players will participate in a 36-hole stroke-play championship (18 holes each day)
  • The championship field will be divided evenly into four flights. Players will remain in the same flight in which they qualified, which was based on Handicap Indexes as of February 28.
  • During the championship, players will use their Handicap Index as of March 27 and will receive 95% of their Course Handicap (unless otherwise noted by the SCGA).
  • Awards will be given to those who finish in 1st through 5th place in each flight. All ties in all flights will be broken using the USGA suggested method of matching scorecards (Committee Procedures: Section 5A (6)).

 

REGISTRATION:

All players must check in at the SCGA registration table upon arrival. Registration will begin at 6 a.m. inside the golf shop/snack bar area.

 

PRACTICE ROUNDS:

  • Players may plan for practice rounds at a special rate based on availability. $78 on the North Course and $70 on the South Course, cart included.
  • Call the golf shop at (760) 775-2000 and identify yourself as a participant in the SCGA Amateur Net Championship.
  • Practice rounds are a privilege, not a right. The SCGA works with a variety of facilities throughout the course of the year, all of which have unique policies and procedures when it comes to practice rounds. These opportunities will be provided at the sole discretion of the host facility.
  • We are guests and must follow all facility policies and guidelines when on property. Behavior during practice rounds will be subject to the SCGA Code of Conduct.

 

STARTING TIMES AND PAIRINGS: 

  • Starting times and pairings will be e-mailed to players and posted online at scga.org four days in advance of the championship following the conclusion of the last qualifier.
  • Starting times will range from 7:30 a.m. – 11:40 a.m. each day on both the North and South courses.  
  • Arroyo and Mission Flights will play the South Course on Monday and the North Course on Tuesday.
  • Pacific and San Andreas Flights will play the North Course on Monday and the South Course on Tuesday.
  • Lead groups should plan to be at their assigned tee 10 minutes in advance of their starting time. Subsequent groups are encouraged to arrive once the preceding group has teed off. Players arriving late will be penalized under Rule 5.3a of the Rules of Golf. For example, the 9:00 a.m. starting time is defined as 9:00:00, and players arriving after that time are considered late.

 

LODGING:

There is not a room block available for this championship. Players will be on their own to book lodging.

 

TEES & YARDAGE:   

 

DRIVING RANGE:

  • The driving range will be available by 6:30 a.m. on each morning of the championship. 
  • Players should give themselves ample time to use the driving range, shuttles will be available to commute.
  • Range balls will be provided compliments of The GC at Terra Lago and the SCGA.

 

FOOD SERVICE & PURCHASES:

  • The Snack bar will be open from 7:00 a.m. until the end of play each day.
  • Participants only will be provided lunch on the first day.
  • Major credit cards will be accepted for all purchases.

 

RULES OF PLAY:

 

GOLF CARTS, PULL/PUSH CARTS:

  • Golf carts are included with the entry fee; however, players who are able and willing to walk may do so.
  • There will be a maximum of two carts per group and two bags per cart. Players wishing to ride will be expected to share a cart with another player.
  • Each player is entitled to one seat in a cart. If a player brings a caddie, the caddie may ride provided there is a vacant seat in one of the carts. Otherwise, either the player or the caddie must walk.
  • Drivers must be at least 16 years of age (or older if club policy dictates).
  • Pull or push carts are permitted.

 

CADDIES & SPECTATORS:

  • Players may provide their own caddie (see section on golf carts).
  • Spectators are permitted but are not allowed in carts. Spectators must adhere to all policies set forth by the facility.

 

DRESS CODE:

Appropriate golf attire must be worn, including adhering to any facility-specific policies.

 

CANCELATIONS & REFUNDS:

  • To withdraw for any reason prior to the start of a SCGA competition, a player must notify the SCGA Championships & Golf Operations Department at champs@scga.org.
  • Failure to notify the SCGA will subject the player to suspension from future SCGA competitions.
